Kenya Rumukia is a standout natural-process coffee from the Nyeri region, produced by smallholder members of the Rumukia Farmers’ Cooperative Society. Located on the southwestern slopes of Mt. Kenya, the area benefits from rich red volcanic soil and cool, high-altitude growing conditions ranging from 1740 to 1850 MASL.
The cherries are carefully handpicked, then sun-dried on raised beds to allow optimal airflow and slow, even drying over 15–21 days. This natural process encourages a deep fruit complexity, giving this lot its vivid character.
In the cup, expect a winey acidity with lush tropical intensity. Jackfruit sweetness up front, followed by deeper notes of preserved plum and a syrupy finish. It’s a bold yet balanced expression of what Nyeri’s highlands can offer when terroir and technique align.
