Hōjicha

Originated from Kyoto about 100 year ago, Hojicha teas are made with the same teas used in Matcha but it's roasted to remove the bitterness that is present in green teas while at the same time reducing the caffeine level and adds a smoky and earthy taste to it. The low caffeine content makes it a perfect alternative to coffee or teas in the evening

Crafted from blend tea from farms around Kyoto, Mie, Shiga, and Nara Prefecture, our Hojicha are roasted to perfection bringing out the roasted aroma rice and the taste of the sweet umami of seaweed.
